[ Back to Main FAQ Page ] - How do I obtain a rust finish (rust effect) on my asbestos garden pot?
| Harlequin Rust It Paint is a easy two part process to turn every day objects into aged iron rusty looking pieces. Suitable for wood, metal, asbestos, plastic and walls.
Clean the surface. Prime the raw surface. Allow to dry. Stir the Rust It Paint well as it contains very fine metal particles. Apply the first coat, a thick black paint like product. The more coats you apply, the rustier the item can become. Try stippling the Rust It Paint to create a slightly more textured look. Once it has dried, take the activator (a, aqua blue colour liquid), and apply with a brush for an all over rust finish, or dribble the activator down the surface to give it a slightly more natural look. Allow to dry thoroughly. Suitable for interior and exterior use. Since it is a natural product, it can not be varnished or sealed.
